Overview

Shred Aware LLC is located at 2237 3rd St, Eureka, CA 95501.

They are a local business offering secure document shredding services to their community. To us being local is much more than having a physical address in Humboldt County. Being local means treating each customer as a member of their local community and seeking out local vendors to keep the dollars they spend here. They have developed a relationship with Humboldt Community Access and Restheirce Center (HCAR), a local nonprofit dedicated to creating connections to the community for people with developmental disabilities, in filling the positions they have available. Every possible position is filled by an individual with developmental disabilities. These employment opportunities offer individuals long term employment and training along with learning the daily living skills many of us take for granted. Their company Shred Aware was founded in 2009 when third-generation Humboldt native Kyle Visser recognized the need for a secure, local document destruction company in their community. He opened his business, originally called Shred Tec, in a small Arcata warehouse and began shredding documents for local businesses and individuals. As more companies began to trust and utilize their services they quickly outgrew this first warehouse and shredding equipment. So Kyle and his wife Natalie moved operations to a building they purchased in Eureka in 2013. Now, the company is housed in a much larger warehouse and office facility on the corner of 3rd and X streets -- it’s better suited for the scale of information destruction required to service their community’s needs. Read more about the services they offer. They adopted a new direction in September 2014 when they changed their name to Shred Aware and look forward to a bright future servicing the information destruction and protection needs of Humboldt County.
