About this Location
Bridgeway Acres Landfill is located at 3050 110th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33716.
Bridgeway Acres Landfill is a MSW landfill that is the primary back up to the Waste to Energy Plant located on the same property. We were awarded a 7 year operating contract in September 2008 with a possible 3 year extension which would last through August 2018. Under normal operations the landfill receives 250-400 tons of non-burnable material and 650 tons of incinerator ash daily. If the incinerator has to shut down due to a break down or for maintenance our daily tonnage can reach up to 4,000 tons. This facility accepts waste only from Pinellas County.

Landfills play a vital role in managing the waste generated by households, businesses, and industries. These facilities are designed to safely dispose of materials that cannot be reused, recycled, or otherwise diverted from the waste stream. Modern landfills follow strict environmental regulations and employ advanced engineering techniques to minimize their impact on surrounding communities and ecosystems.
To protect the environment, landfills are often equipped with features such as liners, leachate collection systems, and gas recovery systems. These measures help prevent contamination of soil and water while capturing methane emissions, which can be converted into renewable energy, reducing the facility’s carbon footprint.
