Valley View Landfill was originally opened in the mid to late 1950’s and accepts MSW, C&D, non-hazardous industrial wastes, non-hazardous liquid waste and asbestos. Currently the landfill that accepts approximately 600 tons per day with no regulated daily limit. Methane from the site is collected and flared on-site. Leachate is transported off site to a wastewater treatment plant and/or re-circulated. Currently the site enjoys 40-year life expectancy. Valley View Landfill is located in Macon County and pays host fees to Macon County.
This facility is permitted to accept waste from all counties in Illinois and surrounding states and accepts waste from Advanced Disposal subsidiaries and third party companies.
